Project Manager (Smart Solutions)

The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) is the Government’s delivery agent to provide the high performance training system for eligible sports. The HKSI’s mission is to provide an environment in which sports talent can be identified, nurtured and developed to pursue excellence in the international sporting arena benchmarked at Major Games results. We are now inviting suitable candidates for the following vacancy:

The Job

Reporting to the Associate Director (Estate Office), the Project Manager (Smart Solutions) will assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of smart solutions for the new Facilities Development Project as well as the entire HKSI Fo Tan Campus. Interfacing with the users, the Project Team and consultants, the Project Manager (Smart Solutions) takes lead in the management of the application of smart building technologies and implementation of the smart facilities management solutions, ensuring the existing and new infrastructure on campus are connected, adaptive and “smart”, to establish an efficient and eco-friendly campus. His/ Her responsibilities include the followings:

  • Coordination with stakeholders on the technical requirements for Facilities Development Project (the Project), and the smart solutions requirements for the entire campus;
  • Project management and contract administration for the delivery of smart solutions;
  • Liaison with Facilities Department and the Maintenance Department in their adoption of the application of smart building technologies and smart facilities management system for operation;
  • Development of implementation plan and funding application for smart solutions for the entire campus;
  • Review of design drawings, detail drawings and specifications in connection with the projects;
  • Overall monitoring of the Project, in particular the smart solutions, to ensure that it is properly implemented and documented in accordance with the agreed programme, budget, the relevant statutory requirements; and
  • Reporting of the project status to senior management and the relevant Government bodies.

 

The Requirements

  • A university degree in Architecture / Building Construction Management / Building Engineering / Electrical and Mechanical Engineering / Building Surveying / Electronics Engineering / Mechatronic Engineering or related disciplines;
  • Relevant professional qualification in construction industry. A BEAM Pro qualification and a Construction Industry Council accredited Building Information Modeling Manager (CCBM) qualification would be an advantage;
  • At least 10 years’ relevant local experience in project management of building projects and refurbishment projects including project experience in areas of innovative technical solutions, advanced engineering system operations, ELV systems and infrastructures; Experience in Government or Government subvention projects, BEAM PLUS, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Modular Integrated Construction (MIC) would be an advantage;
  • Passion in implementing smart solutions (ICT/ELV) systems, understanding of user and O&M requirements, and exposure working with a multi-disciplinary project team;
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Highly motivated with strong sense of responsibility, able to work collaboratively and independently;
  • Proficiency in computer applications including MS-Office and AutoCAD.
