Talent Identification Assistant (英文版本)

The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) is the Government’s delivery agent to provide the high performance training system for eligible sports. The HKSI’s mission is to provide an environment in which sports talent can be identified, nurtured and developed to pursue excellence in the international sporting arena benchmarked at Major Games results. We are now inviting suitable candidates for the following vacancy:

The Job

Reporting to the Senior Talent Identification Officer, the Talent ID Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To assist with the smooth implementation of talent identification and screening programmes testing, i.e.
    • To prepare the necessary equipment, utensils and venue for testing;
    • To assist in conducting testing;
    • To maintain stock of consumables;
    • To perform regular maintenance on testing equipment.
  • To perform in-house testing trials;
  • To maintain database on all testing data;
  • To perform data entry and processing for analysis;
  • To assist in new projects and research; and
  • To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.

 

The Requirements

  • Applicants should have completed their secondary education with at least 5 passes in HKCEE or 5 HKDSE subjects with at least Level 2 or equivalent, including English, Chinese and Mathematics;
  • With Certificate/ Diploma in sports, exercise science, physical education or related disciplines is an advantage;
  • Certified in first aid, CPR and AED;
  • At least 2 years working experience in sports or related field;
  • Experience in working as a technical staff/ physical fitness tester; working in sports management, sports development programmes, physical education or related field; or full-time athlete experience in a national sports institute is an advantage;
  • Highly motivated with a passion for high performance sport;
  • Good interpersonal and planning skills;
  • Able to work irregular hours and perform under pressure;
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Putonghua is an advantage;
  • Capable of operating SPSS is preferable; and
  • Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong.
