The HKSI and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) jointly launched the “Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme” (the Scheme) in 2023. The Scheme aims to encourage and recognise Hong Kong outstanding athletes by providing cash incentives for their achievements at the Major Games.
The three-year Scheme covers several major multi-sport games, including the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, scheduled to be held from 26 July to 11 August 2024. The cash incentives for Hong Kong athletes at this Games are listed as follows (HK$):

Chairman of the HKJC, Mr Michael Lee JP, said that sponsorship of the Scheme underlined HKJC’s commitment to support the development of local athletes. “We aim to foster a culture of public participation in sport in keeping with HKJC’s mission to act continuously for the betterment of society. It is heartening to see our athletes well supported. They deserve recognition for their unrelenting effort and dedication. On behalf of the HKJC, I extend my very best wishes to the Hong Kong, China delegation.”
Chairman of the HKSI, Mr Tang King-shing GBS PDSM is inspired by the continuous achievements of Hong Kong athletes at various Major Games. “Thanks to the HKJC for its relentless efforts in fostering the development of elite sports in Hong Kong and recognising Hong Kong athletes through the Scheme. The HKSI wishes the athletes success in unleashing their full potential at the Olympics after a long period of intensive training and preparation.”
The HKSI and the HKJC announced in 2023 that through the three-year “Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme”, cash incentives are provided to recognise Hong Kong outstanding athletes for their achievements at the Major Games. The Major Games covered by the Scheme include: the World University Games, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the 14th National Winter Games, the 15th National Games in 2025 and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, etc.
