Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme Offers Cash Incentives to Outstanding Athletes at Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

The HKSI and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) jointly launched the “Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme” (the Scheme) in 2023. The Scheme aims to encourage and recognise Hong Kong outstanding athletes by providing cash incentives for their achievements at the Major Games.
The three-year Scheme covers several major multi-sport games, including the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, scheduled to be held from 28 August to 8 September 2024. The cash incentives for Hong Kong athletes at this Games are listed as follows (HK$):

Attending today’s flag presentation ceremony, Club Steward Mr Lester Huang SBS JP expressed his wholehearted support for the Para athletes. “The athletes representing Hong Kong, China in the Paris Paralympics have the full support of The HKJC,” he said. “On behalf of the Club, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to the Hong Kong, China delegation. We will be cheering you on to do your absolute best and hope you can benefit from the awards scheme. The Club supports the city’s sports development not only to nurture our elite athletes, but also because sport plays an important role in character-building. Sport cultivates mental strength, persistence and self-discipline, and in turn helps us to overcome life’s difficulties.”
Chairman of the HKSI, Mr Tang King-shing GBS PDSM showed his appreciation to the accomplishments of Para athletes, saying, “We are grateful for HKJC’s dedicated support to Hong Kong Para athletes through the incentive awards scheme, providing great encouragement to the athletes. The HKSI recognises the perseverance and hard work demonstrated by the Para athletes who are currently preparing for the Paralympic Games, wishing them to fully unleash their talents and shine brilliantly on stage.
The HKSI and the HKJC announced in 2023 that through the three-year “Jockey Club Athlete Incentive Awards Scheme”, cash incentives are provided to recognise Hong Kong outstanding athletes for their achievements at the Major Games. The Major Games covered by the Scheme include: the World University Games, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the 14th National Winter Games, the 15th National Games in 2025 and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, etc.
