Fencer Kong Man-wai made history at the 2019 FIE World Fencing Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. Scoring impressive victories over top ranking opponents and eventually capturing a bronze medal in the women's epee individual event, she became the first-ever Hong Kong fencer to win a medal at the world championships and successfully returned to world number one.
