Abstract Submission Guidelines

Symposium Abstract
Symposium Overview Abstract (500 words)

  • Title: A clear, descriptive title that reflects the symposium’s theme.
  • Theme/Objective (100-150 words): A concise statement about the symposium’s focus, central issue, or question. This should convey the importance and relevance of the topic.
  • Purpose/Significance (100-150 words): Explain why the topic is important for the field and how the symposium advances current research, practice, or theoretical understanding.
  • Symposium Structure (100 words): Detail the number of presentations, time allocation, and how the individual talks are organized.
  • Contribution to the Field (100-150 words): Highlight the symposium’s expected impact on advancing knowledge and understanding of the topic.
  • Target Audience (50-100 words): Identify who will benefit most from attending.

 

Individual Presentation Abstracts (300-500 words each):

  • Title for Each Talk: Each presentation should have a descriptive title that aligns with the symposium theme.
  • Individual Abstract (300-500 words):
    • Background (50-100 words): Context for the specific research or theoretical perspective.
    • Methods/Approach (100-150 words): Summary of methodology or approach.
    • Results/Findings (100-150 words): Key findings or insights.
    • Conclusion/Implications (50-100 words): Relevance and impact of the findings.
    • Presenter Information: Names and affiliations.

Total Symposium Word Count: Approximately 1,200-2,500 words depending on the number of presentations and abstract lengths.

 

Poster Presentation Abstract (250-500 words)

  • Title: Concise and reflective of the research topic.
  • Introduction/Objective (50-100 words): Briefly state the research problem or question and its relevance.
  • Methods (75-150 words): Summarize the methodology used, including sample size, data collection, and analysis techniques.
  • Results (75-150 words): Present key findings or anticipated results.
  • Conclusion/Implications (50-100 words): State the significance of the findings and their contributions to the field.
  • Keywords (if required): Include 3-5 keywords to help categorize the poster.
  • Optional Figures: No figures in the abstract, but plan to use clear visuals in the poster itself.

Total Word Count: 250-500 words.

 

Workshop Abstract (500 words)

  • Title: A descriptive title that reflects the focus of the workshop.
  • Learning Objectives (50-100 words): Clearly list what participants will be able to do by the end of the session.
  • Content Overview (150-200 words): Describe the main topics or areas that will be covered. Explain how the workshop addresses practical or theoretical issues.
  • Structure (100-150 words): Provide an outline of the workshop structure, including time allocation for presentations, group activities, and discussions.
  • Interactive Components (100-150 words): Describe the hands-on or experiential components that engage participants.
  • Materials Provided (if applicable) (50 words): List any handouts or materials that will be provided.
  • Facilitator Information: Briefly summarize the facilitators’ expertise and relevance to the workshop’s focus.

Total Word Count: 400-500 words.

 

Panel Discussion Abstract (500 words)

  • Title: Descriptive and reflective of the topic to be discussed.
  • Panel Overview (100-150 words): Summarize the topic or question that the panel will address, its significance, and why it’s timely or relevant to the field.
  • Discussion Themes (100-150 words): Outline the key themes or subtopics each panelist will address. Clarify how the panelists’ perspectives will differ or complement each other.
  • Panel Format (50-100 words): Describe how the panel will be structured (e.g., introductory remarks by each panelist, followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A).
  • Panelists’ Information (100 words): List each panelist’s name, affiliation, and area of expertise.
  • Moderator Role (50-100 words): Explain how the moderator will guide the discussion and manage time.
  • Audience Interaction (50-100 words): Indicate if and how audience participation will be facilitated, such as through a Q&A or other interactive elements.

Total Word Count: 450-500 words.
