Fatigue analysis in Sports Activities - Application in performance and injury prevention

By Mr. Raymond So

During exercise, the major muscles are activated or worked in a coordinated way. However, such muscle activation pattern was found to vary with the progression of the work out. This adjustment of activation levels may relate to muscle fatigue levels with the intention to maintain the power output (dynamic compensation). Therefore, with the aim of performance enhancement and muscle injury prevention, any muscle training plan must be related to this "dynamic compensation" pattern.
