Systematic Rowing Talent Identification Programme
By Mr. Sam Wong and Mr. Alex Lo
The Rowing Talent Identification (TID) Programme was first introduced in 1987 with the simple target of recruiting committed athletes to take up the sport of rowing. With inspiration from the successful TID programme of the Australia Institute of Sport and additional support from various parties, a systematic TID programme was adopted in 1992. Based on the TID specific database system and standard scientific selection processes, talented individuals are recruited from the general public and gradually become medallist rowers of the HK Rowing Team. This presentation will highlight the basic format of the Rowing TID Programme, TID Tests and Selection, Method of Data Analysis, and Essential Partnerships.
