Youth Talent Identification of the US Track & Field Athletes

The speaker will first give a brief review of research on talent identification. Next, opportunities for youth to participate in track and field in the US and the development of podium-level athletes are discussed. The presentation concludes with a discussion on implications for nurturing talent with methods that are developmentally appropriate from physical, psychological and social perspectives.
