Visitors to Hong Kong must hold a passport with a minimum validity of six months.

We will assist delegates in obtaining visitor permits by providing support letters. Please note that applicants are responsible for submitting their own applications.

Currency

The currency of Hong Kong is the Hong Kong Dollar (HK$), which is pegged to the US Dollar within a band of 7.75 to 7.85. Most foreign currencies and travelers’ cheques can be exchanged easily at banks, hotels, and currency exchange services. Credit cards are widely accepted at major hotels, restaurants, department stores, and shops.
The main payment methods in Hong Kong are cash, Octopus Card, and Alipay/WeChat Pay, Apple and Android Pay are also accepted. Please note that some locations may not accept American Express.

THE PEAK

THE PEAK TRAM

The Peak is often dubbed Hong Kong’s most spectacular destination, and the journey there is equally spellbinding. The trip takes approximately 6 minutes, rising from 33m to 396m above sea level along a 1,278m-long track. Enjoy a visually memorable experience as skyscrapers glide past at seemingly impossible angles. Ideal for videos and photos, have your phone ready to chronicle your ascent. With over 135 years of tramway excellence, this is one of the world’s oldest funicular railways and a must-visit attraction, welcoming over 6 million patrons a year.
